Jenaux ft. Jared lee – Turn Your World Around (Laidback Luke Edit)

What makes Laidback Luke such a driving force amongst the electronic dance music world is his unique ability to produce all genres of dance music. Whether he is producing electro house, Melbourne Bounce, or something a little more progressive, no genre is to big or too difficult for the living legend to conquer. With Laidback Luke amongst the headlines these past few weeks in a seemingly negative light, the Dutch titan is back once again to prove why he is one of the top producers and DJs in the world.

This past friday on Hardwell On AirHardwell debuted Laidback Luke’s newest edit to Jenaux track “Turn Your World Around”. The original track features an amazing vocal top line from Jared Lee, which is further completed with the progressive driving beat that Jenauxs creates. This progressive edit done by Laidback Luke adds an extra flair onto an already stunning track. With this track’s popularity growing by the day, there’ll be no surprise if it takes Beatport by storm on May 12th. For now, check out the preview below and let us know what you think!

Axwell – Center of the Universe (Blinders Remix)

Axwell – Center of the Universe
Label: Axtone | Released Date: October. 14, 2013

Axwell’s progressive house hit “Center of the Universe” has already been remixed by producers like Dyro and Koncept each of which have their own unique twist to the original. Now, the song has been remixed by new upcoming Polish producer/DJ, Blinders, who puts his own electro house sound to it. The Polish producer strips the original song down and uses the vocals to change the initial track into a big room anthem. Blinders does an excellent job at completely altering the original into a new unique sound that is ready to be rocked at shows and festivals. Expect to see and hear more from the Polish native. Listen to the preview below.

Lana Del Rey – Young & Beautiful (Cedric Gervais Remix)

Finally, the remix that almost became the next big hit for Cedric Gervais, has officially released.  A product of unfortunate timing, as Kaskade released his own as part of the Great Gatsby soundtrack, very much hurt Cedric’s ability to get this play time.  First debuted at EDC Las Vegas in his night 1 set, Cedric seems to have found a preference for Lana Del Rey.  This song carries many of the similar elements that made his remix of “Summertime Sadness” such a summertime mega-hit, with a similar upbeat and uplifting beat.

Avicii – Wake Me Up (Afrojack Remix)

It was only a matter of time before Afrojack wanted his own piece of one the biggest hits of the year, Avicii’s “Wake Me Up”. Giving it a more direct 4×4 beat background, Afrojack doesn’t do all that much to it prior to his iteration of the drop, which isn’t all that much either. It employs a fairly simple, yet unique, progressive beat that Afrojack seems to always be able to deliver with. You’re not finding an improved version here necessarily, just more or less an edit that Afrojack can employ in his club sets. Check it out below:

Coldplay – Fix You (Collin McLoughlin Remix)

Do you like dubstep remixes of non EDM songs? Of course you do! Well Collin McLoughlin is here for your fix. His new remix of Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ is a song add to your playlist for awesome weather days. The euphoric chords make for some real feel good tunage. Being a vocalist himself (you may recognize him as the voice in Vicetone’s hit song ‘Heartbeat’) he really knows how to turn vocal samples and turn them into glitchy beautiful melodies. This combined with Collin’s signature dub sounds and electro vibes make this another perfect example of elegance in dubstep, which is not too easy to come by these days.

Kat Krazy Feat. Elkka – Siren (Armin van Buuren Remix)

The legendary Armin van Buuren has returned to his remixing duties after prior release of his artist album “Intense” and hot on the heels of his forthcoming “Intense (The More Intense Edition)” remixed version of his artist album. Though on the other production foot, his latest personal remix effort is a sheerly atmospheric-heights-inducing take on Kat Krazy‘s wicked clean production “Siren” featuring the gripping vocals of Elkka.
Showcasing his ability to curate euphoria to stratospheric heights while retaining a punchy edge, “Siren” is one massive release of crystal clear proportions. The ludicrously emotive synth builds in the bridge that lead into the serotonin-dumping release-of-a-drop is goosebump causing evidence of Armin’s pure mastery of musicality. The radio rip from ASOT 638 below is going to have you get you by until the mixes’ official release on November 18. Where’s dat repeat button, Soundcloud?!

Afrojack – The Spark Remixes featuring Tiesto & twoloud

Today, the remix package for Afrojack’s controversial single “The Spark” was released today. For those who thought his production was too commercial and poppy, this remix package definitely does it justice. Michael Calfan, Blasterjaxx, DubVision, Tiesto and twoloud were all able to put their own unique spin on the track. “The Spark” was injected with some progressive house, big room and electro house. Most remix packages have at least a couple of weak remixes, but this package is all-around stellar. Which is your favorite?

Mikky Ekko – Kids (The Chainsmokers Remix) [Free Download]

New York based producers Drew Taggart and Alex Pall a.k.a The Chainsmokers has brought to us a wonderful progressive house remix of Mikky Ekko’s indie song “Kids.” The remix is centered around the original song’s piano chords and Mikky Ekko’s vocals which sing the addicting lyrics that “kids are gonna do what they want.” The Chainsmokers not only use big melodic synths to maintain the song’s uplifting energy, but they skillfully add in a sweeping horn to help add an almost cinematic and epic feel to the song. With the combination of all of these different elements, the song becomes a spirit raising song that can make anyone’s day. It is difficult to argue that this song just doesn’t make you feel good on the inside. The best part of all of this is that the remix is free so long as you like The Chainsmokers’ Facebook page. So go on and download this beautiful track! Take a listen below.

Lorde – Royals (tyDi Rework)

You can’t turn on the radio without hearing Lorde’s popular hit “Royals” at least once. “Royals” has a basic structure, which allows the focus to be on Lorde’s vocals. Although various remixes of “Royals” have appeared, Australian Producer/DJ Tyson Illingworth, better known as tyDi, puts a fantastic spin on the indie hit. tyDi builds around Lorde’s vocals, completely transforming the music accompanying Lorde’s voice. What results is a dance track that closely rivals the original. tyDi’s version of Lorde’s “Royals” was put up just for fun and the track will not be officially released, so enjoy the track below!

Armin Van Buuren – Love Never Came (W&W vs Armin Van Buuren Remix)

Armin Van Buuren ft. Richard Bedford – Love Never Came (W&W vs. Armin Van Buuren Remix)
Label: Armada Music: | Release Date: 15th November, 2013

Played as early as Ultra Music Festival 2013 and more recently dropped on the W&W podcast Mainstage, this remix will surely turn some heads for the rest of the year. It saw festival play at TomorrowWorld and Live @ W&W and Friends, Beat Club, Amsterdam Event 2013. There are only 2 minutes of play in this Youtube preview, but frankly, that’s all you need to get excited about the insane CD compilation it’s on: Armada Music

The bass throbs with energy and the anthem trance feel is in full effect. Richard Bedford’s soulful vocals grab your attention while the tune pulls back into echoing minimal drops of sound to give W&W time to build slowly into a behemoth of a build that teases a break more than once. The proper break provides some excellent move-to-it trance-y beats that scream to be used on the main stage. As it has been, repeatedly. Grab it on Armin Van Buuren’s More Intense Remix album on iTunes.

Krewella – We Are One (Noise Killerz Remix)

I think it’s fair to say that Krewella is kind of a big deal in the scene. They recently released the remix pack for ‘Live For the Night’ and announced a few weeks ago a remix competition for their track ‘We Are One’. As the remixes have been trickling it, the gems have been few and far between, but Noise Killerz absolutely delivered with this rendition. We Are One is a huge festival song, but in this remix that big sound is taken out and replaced with a much more chill vibe. The way that Noise Killerz channels that Krewella sound is impressive, adding in heavy synths that deliver that intricate sound you just can’t get enough of. This is one of the many impressive remixes that have been going up, and we wish the best of luck to everyone that is getting involved.

Coldplay – See You Soon (Simon Patterson Remix)

As Armin so eloquently puts it at the end of the soundcloud clip below “Is there anything this man can’t do!?” And rightfully so, as the Northern Irishman is one of the most talented and trusted names in the faster varieties of trance music. Patterson’s impressive discography spans back to 2006 when his break out track F16 was first released. Since then he has made some fantastic uplifting masterpieces including “Always”, “Mood Swing”, “Latika” and especially “Miss You” which seems to nod at a previous Coldplay track “The Scientist” in its Piano chords.

More recently Patterson has been focusing on his other passion in trance, that of a psy/techno influence as seen in his new original “Brush Strokes” and in his huge remix of Neelix’s Spy bomb “Leave Me Alone”. However, with this remix of Coldplay’s track “See You Soon” Simon shows us that his uplifting side remains very much at the forefront of his sound, as we are given a beautifully melodic bootleg of the Coldplay classic that compliments Chris Martins vocals and piano work perfectly in its breakdown and release.

Enjoy the rip from Asot 640 above, and lets hope for an official release.

deadmau5 vs. Eric Prydz – The Veldt (feat. Chris James)

Ironically enough, few tracks are as feel good as the one based on a 1950 Ray Bradbury short story in which children living in an automated home telepathically kill their parents by envisioning lions eating their bodies. Doesn’t sound good but we all know that deadmau5′s “The Veldt” sounds good. Even better is that Eric Prydz has provided his own edit of the track and it’s finally available for purchase on Dance (RED) Saves Lives, Vol. 2. With Prydz putting his signature exquisite progressive sound on the entrancing original, the best gets better.

This edit and the other tracks on Dance (RED) Saves Lives, Vol. 2, are available on iTunes.

Coldplay – A Sky Full of Stars (Produced by Avicii)

Coldplay, an act that we regularly cover due to the wide range of remixes that come from their original hits, has recently teamed up with Avicii for yet another beautiful production. The Swedish producer has dipped his talents into Coldplay’s music in the past, having remixed “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.” From the get-go, Chris Martin’s soothing vocals glide seamlessly along the piano instrumentals (which btw, Avicii is responsible for as well). Much like some of the tracks off of his True album, Avicii’s electronic presence isn’t fully recognized until the chorus comes rushing in. The progressive-house chords are something that Coldplay doesn’t play with in much of their productions, but with Avicii’s added charisma and progressive touch, there’s no reason not to dance uncontrollably. From Tiesto’s remix of “Paradise” to Swedish House Mafia’s very own rendition of “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” Coldplay has proved that they have the sound that was meant for electronic music. “A Sky Full of Stars” is the second single of their upcoming album Ghost Stories, which set to be released on May 19.

Steve Angello’s SIZE Records Takes Over LA

One man. One label. One decade.  Size matters.

Steve Angello’s iconic record label, Size Records celebrates 10 years of innovation and excellence in dance music this year, ranging over two hundred releases. Label founder and former Swedish House Mafia member, Steve Angello’s commitment to dance music has inspired a generation. To celebrate the Decade, Size mainstays, AN21, Max Vangeli, Qulinez and Third Party embarked on a celebratory Size Records tour. With seven stops left on the tour, the boys will be returning to Size Record’s home base in Los Angeles for a Size Take Over at iconic Hollywood night club, Create.

All four artists have impressive resumes and share Size’s commitment to creating cutting edge music. Each artist brings a unique flavor of melodic big room sprinkled with a touch of dirty bass. AN21, Max Vangeli, Qulinez and Third Party have learned from dance music’s best, whether it be remixing a Tiesto track or collaborating with the Size label boss himself, Steve Angello. Just in time for the tour, Max Vangeli’s newly released infectious track ‘Last Night Changed It All‘ will grace the hottest dance floors across North America.

R3hab ft. Eva Simons – Unstoppable

Some short clips have been floating around, but R3hab has just shared a long teaser of his upcoming track, “Unstoppable,” featuring the beautiful vocals of Eva Simons.  R3hab has been his normal active self the past few months, releasing quality tracks on a consistent basis. We see no reason why this one would be different. We’d expect nothing but greatness from this collaboration and the preview of their latest progressive work has us super excited to hear the full release. Take a listen below.

Adventure Club – Wonder (Official Music Video)

When Adventure Club teamed up with The Kite String Tangle a few months back, uptempo beats were fused with dream-scape vocals and ‘Wonder’ was born. Following its release, a remix contest was hosted from which countless remixes began to surface, each one more unique and beautiful than the previous.

Now that the dust has settled from its original release, Adventure Club returns to the track by uploading a music video for the song. The video itself tells the story of a young man who loses a friend to a tragic bike accident. The touching visual-artwork of the film, coupled with the haunting vocals, creates the perfect tandem of music put to film.

Check out Adventure Club’s most recent EP release, which includes ‘Wonder’, on iTunes.

Tiësto – Red Lights (Pete Tong World Exclusive Premiere)

Pete Tong had the exclusive world premiere of Tiësto’s latest tune “Red Lights” that is reminiscent of Swedish House Mafia’s progressive house style. The track at first sounds very poppy and commercial, similar to that of Afrojack’s “The Spark.” With poppy vocals and an acoustic melody to ignite the track, I can only imagine how many eye rolls there would be to the beginning of this song. However, the house heavyweight redeems himself during the big progressive drop that sounds more like his hit “Take Me” featuring Kyler England. Whether he is experimenting with a more commercial sound or not, the radio-friendly tune is catchy and most definitely a crowd-pleaser.

Imagine Dragons – Demons (Dzeko & Torres ‘Sunset’ Remix) [Free Download]

Canadian duo Dzeko & Torres have just released an uplifting progressive tune as a free download during this wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. They decided to remix the very popular Imagine Dragons hit “Demons” and gave the catchy song a hefty house boost, successfully maintaining the original’s melody and vocals. It has been quite a year for Julian Dzeko and Luis Torres, as they have been touring all over North America and even were behind the decks alongside Tiesto at the prestigious Las Vegas club Hakkasan. Now let us all be thankful for this free download!

Showtek & Justin Prime ft Matthew Koma – Cannonball (Earthquake)

There seems to be a pattern in adding in vocals to original tracks that are already bangers. Showtek is now following this trend and have just recently previewed a vocal version of their hit “Cannonball,” now titled “Earthquake” with the addition of vocalist Matthew Koma. Koma is no stranger to the EDM scene, frequently providing vocals to producers like Zedd, Fedde le Grand, Nicky Romero, Alesso and most recently on Hardwell’s ‘I Dare You‘. The addition of the vocals is a sure-fire way to shake up the original and is sure to have any crowd sing a long. “Earthquake” is set to be released on Spinnin’ Records soon so be on the look out!

Zedd & Kevin Drew – Stay The Night (Remix) ft. Hayley Williams

Zedd’s instant dance music hit “Stay The Night” was an absolute excellent addition to his first studio album “Clarity”, and has truly become one of the most recognizable and well received tunes on Zedd’s well crafted, Grammy-nominated, masterpiece. With this specific track, Zedd has taken the honors of reworking it himself while wisely choosing to collaborate with the extremely talented up and coming producer from New Jersey, Kevin Drew. The preview is quite the teaser, definitely picking up in the later half of the record, giving us just a sample of this dance hall banger. This remix seems to differ from its original in the sense of taking on a more melodic, quick step, and groovy feel to its main section while using a few sounds that one may hear more frequently in bass music and harder electro tracks, definitely showing Kevin Drew’s contribution to the new piece.

Tritonal – Now Or Never (Estiva vs. Juventa Remix)

Tritonal – Now Or Never (Estiva vs. Juventa Remix)
Label: Enhanced Recordings | Release Date: December 23rd, 2013

Dutch producers Estiva and Juventa has put a summery progressive spin on Tritonal’s tune “Now Or Never.” By adding innovative funk elements and intricate acoustic work into the bass line of the second verse, they are able to deliver a remix that gives listeners a fresh take on the euphoric melody. This is the perfect kickstarter for the debut of Tritonal’s highly anticipated compilation series, Tritonia Chapter 001, which is set to drop next week. Stay tuned for that to be released on Tuesday, December 17th.

Borgeous – Invincible

Borgeous – Invincible
Label: Spinnin’ Records | Release Date: Jan 20th, 2014

The man from Miami, Borgeous, is back again with a new one-minute sneak peek of his new track, “Invincible“, which represents a whole new direction in terms of music style compared to his two recent releases of “Stampede” and “Tsunami” (probably one of the hottest and most-played tracks at the moment). There are no banger elements to “Invincible” and instead, Borgeous takes on a much softer approach by using beautiful female vocals that makes the track radiate summer progressive/pop energy and also reminds us the versatility of the American’s production capabilities. Looks like we will need to wait awhile for the release as “Invincible” will be out on Spinnin’ Records on 20 January 2014. For now, you can familiarize yourself with the track with the short preview below.

Hardwell Feat. Amba Sheperd – Apollo (Hardwell’s Private Edit) [Free Download]

To commemorate hitting 3,000,000 fans on his Facebook page, Hardwell just announced that this retooled version of his monumental track is available as a free download. After it’s initial release on Revealed Records, “Apollo” took the electronic music world by storm and was instrumental in rocketing Hardwell to his now A-List status. In this private edit of the song, a short intro leads directly into the instantly recognizable build-up and melodic chorus Hardwell fans know and love. The original drop remains intact but leads directly into segments of Lucky Date’s popular remix of the track. Much of the song follows the same pattern, giving listeners the best of both worlds: the musicality of the original version with a cool electro twist in the middle. This unexpected release is a real treat for Hardwell fans and a track you should expect to hear hyping up crowds at festivals well into the new year. Check it out below and grab your free download today.

T.I. feat. Christina Aguilera – Castle Walls (Collin McLoughlin & Skrux Remix) [Free Download]

Collin McLoughlin and Skrux team up to produce a beautiful melodic dubstep tune to T.I. and Christina Aguilera’s collaboration “Castle Walls.” The remix is perfectly described as “a soaring trace like arp [that] guides the listener through a wave of heavy bass and glitched vocals, making this interpretation of Castle Walls a perfect balance between subtle beauty and overdriven low end.” Collin and Skrux establish a slow yet heavy rhythm layered by a melancholy tone. Enjoy this flawless free download!

Gareth Emery – “U” ft. Bo Bruce

After wide success with “Concrete Angels” in 2012, Gareth Emery seems to have been stooped up in his studio working on his big album rumored to release early this year.  Luckily, being huddled away from all the EDM hype and hubbub of 2013 forced Emery to refocus and stay true to his musical style, as previewed in his new single, “U” featuring The Voice UK runner up Bo Bruce.

In October 2013, he posted a note to listeners on his Facebook page:

News flash: my upcoming 2014 album will not feature trap, dubstep, drops or “that sound” we’ve heard in about 10000 EDM tracks this year.
Don’t get me wrong – I like “bangers” and have played my fair share of them, especially at festivals when they’re pretty fun, but that isn’t the musical direction I am going in right now.
It’s all about melody & songs. In a variety of styles.
About 85% there… I know it’s been a while so thank you for sticking with me. I am working hard to reward your patience.

“U” starts off  with Bruce’s ethereal vocals and progressive melodies from electric guitar and piano instrumentals creating that classically uplifting Emery sound, when half way through the song, an incredible electro synth riff subsumes the song leaving listeners with the thought, “He’s back!” Listen to the track below and grab a copy from iTunes starting February 4th.

Andrew Bayer – Once Lydian

Andrew Bayer – Once LydianLabel: Anjunabeats | Release Date: February 03, 2014

The endlessly talented Andrew Bayer had an unbelievable 2013 and now he’s starting his 2014 off strong with his gorgeous take on big room, “Once Lydian.” Of course, 2013 saw Andrew release his second full length artist album If It Were You, We’d Never Leave, in which he successfully experimented with down tempo trip hop and on point use of organic soundscapes. Since then, the Anjunabeats mainstay has been releasing big room track after big room track. And we have to say, Andrew Bayer’s version is much better.
“Once Lydian” employs a similar constructive approach to Mr. Bayer’s earlier big room releases, making use of heavy hitting electro stabs in the tracks intro, not unlike the work he has been doing with fellow Americans, and good friends Norin and Rad under their Artificial monicker. Upon reaching the breakdown, Bayer’s emotional Signalrunners touch is instantly recognisable. The main melody really soars, and when accompanied by textbook Bayer counter melodies, it transcends into a crash that is sure to please most fans of both trance and house.

There is no doubt that big room progressive house is being both produced and consumed like McDonald’s at the moment, but it’s tracks like these that, although few and far between, show there’s still some quality stuff being made in the genre.

Bastille – Pompeii (Audien Remix)

A typically boring Friday afternoon suddenly became a little more intriguing today due to the appearance of a new Audien tune. If you read EDMTunes on a regular basis, you’re probably aware that we are very big Audien fans around here, so even this short two minute preview was enough to get us properly excited prior for the weekend. This time around, Nate Rathbun has taken a stab at remixing one of those radio hit, potential-one-hit-wonder, tracks of 2013 – Bastille’s “Pompeii.”
After venturing into big room house territory with “Elysium,” this remix goes back to what Audien does best: that progressive, uplifting house sound that saw him become one of dance music’s brightest stars in 2013. Featuring the hook-heavy vocals and melody of Bastille in the breakdown, “Pompeii” really takes off in true Audien fashion at the release, harking back to the “Wayfarer” sound that brought the youngster into the spotlight in late 2012.

Tiesto Celebrates Birthday with Free Remix of John Legend’s ‘All of Me’

Happy 45th Birthday, Tiesto! Drunk tweeting last night, it seemed like Tiesto had quite the wild and inebriated birthday celebration, proving he still has the soul and partying spirit to keep up with the youngins who rave to his music. All sloppy behavior excused for today.

Zedd – Find You ft. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant

t’s been about a week since Zedd announced the completion of his new track on Facebook, and it’s been a nonstop countdown to the release of his new single “Find You” with Matthew Koma and Miriam Bryant. With replacing Justin Timberlake as the frontman for Bud Light Platinum’s Grammy campaign, Zedd will feature “Find You” in a commercial spot during the awards this weekend!
To no surprise, the dynamite team of Zedd, Koma, Bryant deliver a powerful vocal and melody martini that will get you in the perfect dancing mood for this Friday. Enjoy the preview, and look out for the premiere during the Grammys!

Hardwell jumped out to a hot start in 2014 with the release of the track “Dare You” featuring the incredibly talented Matthew Koma, which quickly dominated the charts. In what’s become essentially an industry standard, he’s now enlisted the help of some other prominent DJs to give his hit a fresh twist, and he’s pulled in some big guns to do so. Dutch legend Tiesto and his protege group twoloud are the latest to tackle the progressive original. The teaser below delivers an absolutely thundering electro rework that gives new life to the track and will certainly find its way into plenty of upcoming sets after its release on February 10th.
